My concern is with Baptists. 2 Peter 2:20,21 - For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are AGAIN ENTANGLED in them and OVERCOME, the latter end is WORSE for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. ~ Note: The word "pollutions" also means "that which defiles, vices - the foulness of which contaminates one in his intercourse with the ungodly mass of mankind." The word "overcome" also means "to be conquered by one, forced to yield to one." Here it means to be conquered by and forced to yield to sin. Then that makes the person a slave of sin again, as the previous verse, 2:19, implies. The word "known" in "known the way of righteousness" also means "know well, to become thoroughly acquainted with." This is definitely about a former true Christian who was set free from sin and then turned from God's commandment to be holy. They will have a worse punishment in hell than if they never got saved to begin with. 2 Peter 3:17,18 - You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, BEWARE LEST YOU ALSO FALL from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen. ~ Note: This clearly proves that "OSAS" IS WRONG. To "fall from" also means "to LOSE it, to perish, to fall powerless, be without effect of the divine promise of salvation."

I read the section on marriage and divorce. I was in love with a woman 20 years ago. I dont believe I ever stopped loving her. She left me with no real explaination. So several years later I married thinking I would never recieve her love again. Then I was divorced and seven years after that I remarried. I do believe now that the marriage in Gods eyes begins in the heart. How do you devote your life to someone if you always have a past love in your heart? Would it be right to marry at all in Gods eyes?

I enjoyed your fine exposition of the doctrine of the Incarnation. However, I disagree that Jesus, while on earth, might have had unholy thoughts in terms of sexual matters. He Himself said that whoever lusts in his heart has committed adultery. Could the Lord have committed adultery? That would be sin and the Lord was, certainly, sinless. Much is made in some sectors of the Church about this reference to being tempted in all ways. Perhaps we need to tread with caution. For instance, could the Lord have ever wished someone dead in the heat of anger as so many of us have done? I think more reserve is called for in any discussion of Christ's inner life for here we are dealing with mysteries.
